Human brain going to coveted Cracker?
Jakarta – microchip giant Intel are interested to participate to do research on mind reader technology that enables people to control various activities in mind. However, it is feared, as the development of this technology, the human brain will be a target for crackers.
“If we can access global information networks with the power of the mind, it will open new opportunities for computing technology,” said Dean Pomerleau, Intel researchers working with scientists at Carnegie Mellon University to study the brain patterns.
By analyzing the brain activity and blood flow when people are thinking of a word or action, the researchers examined brain patterns that a computer can read.
Quoted from Mercurynews, Monday (18/1/2010), a number of experiments have proven efficacy in controlling the power of the mind a number of activities. For example, the lame man who can change TV channels, typing on the computer, turn off the lights, only a mind reader technology.
Another such experiment is a headset that allows people to control video games with your mind. Do not want to miss, Honda is also showing off a robot that can be controlled with the mind. There is also a mind reader helmet.
A neurologist at the Mayo Clinic stated that Florida did not close the possibility that someday the human brain will be planted as well as microchip when Intel makes personal computers.
In the meantime, Pomerleau insisted that Intel interested in developing a mind reader technology, but does not plan to put the chip in the brains of people.
However, concern arose when this technology will eventually become the target of attack by crackers, so that the system becomes chaotic work and jeopardize the brain. This is based on research in 2008 which found that the pacemaker can be hacked, so feared the same thing will happen to the mind reader technology.
“Controlling the machine with the mind is useful, but anyway every technology can be used for good and evil,” said Anita Silvers of San Francisco State University.
